Phoenix, AZ supergroup The Whisperlights formed in mid-2008 with members of local acts Reindeer Tiger Team (Illya Riske), Tobie Milford, Owl-Out (Owen Marshall) and White Coyote & Brother Nature (Wasef El-Kharouf). In a short time the band began to assemble its sound: a thick flowing coat of guileless full-throated vocal harmonies, ringing guitars and swooning looped violin atop a skeleton of bouncing Rhodes lines and repurposed breakbeats.
